Phaser 7100N with error 010-338 «fuser unit fail»
Customer called with error 010-338 on Phaser 7100n. Customer said he just changed fuser unit to get rid of error but still has 010-338.Any help is appreciated. Is there a reset procedure on this machine that is necessary
after fuser unit is changed. I asked cust. if sure it was a new unit and he said yes. Any advice is appreciated. I will check SM in meantime to see if I see anything though I thought I saw this was a fuser unit fail error but
did not see a service mode reset procedure for this. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Nothing to do with the fuser.
Check for toner low or empty

Re: Phaser 7100N with error 010-338 «fuser unit fail»
Hi Adi . Thank you for your info. It is a little confusing because the Phaser 7100 service manual on page 2-83 states that error 010-338 is a Fuser Unit On Time Fail Error.
Originally the customer called and said he had been using the machine although there was a lot of toner spillage but machine was working. Then change toner cartridge(BLack) message.
After customer changed cartridge he got the 010-338 error. I told him to make sure it was OEM before calling for service. he bought OEM and still had error. I saw info in service manual and told customer
he would probably need fuser unit. He ordered it himself from amazon.com and called this morning to say he still had error. As I am writing this customer just called to say he is out of office but thinks error
has disappeared as machine is asking for loading of paper. He will call tomorrow. Frank
