Project cars ошибка unhandled

We have played both Forza and Driveclub, but now, it’s time we get to enjoy the exhilarating and heart pounding racing action Project Cars has to offer us. The community driven project is looking good and has secured descent reviews by most publications.

Although the game is looking well polished and Slightly Mad Studios has done an admirable job, there are chances that you might run into some issues that weren’t supposed to happen.

In that case, we have a small troubleshooting guide for you to help fix the issues you are facing.

#1 Project Cars Unhandled Exception Errors
If you are the unlucky one and encountering errors about unhandled exceptions, first thing you should try is deleting your graphicsconfig file from the documents folder.

If that doesn’t work, make sure that your don’t have any pending windows updates left for your system. Updating your system could fix the issues. And yes, don’t forget to verify your game files.

Adding -dx9 -x86 in the command line using launch options on Steam seems to have helped some users to resolve the issue.

If you are getting an exception after sometime into the gameplay then you should try lowering your graphics settings to fix it.

#2 Project Cars Controller Issues
If you are using an emulator and you are having some camera issues especially during braking, try setting your Force Feedback option in the settings menu to zero.

#3 Project Cars G27 Pedal Not Mapping
If you own a G27 wheel and are having trouble in configuration, this workaround might be able to fix your issue. You just need to make sure that your aren’t facing any hardware issue.

#4 Project Cars Framerate/FPS Issues
Project Cars is a resource hungry game so even if you have a descent gig, you might not be able to enjoy its full potential. And if you are having FPS issues, try playing around with settings a bit.

Users have reported that lowering grass details and turning off Vsync has helped them to improve the FPS to a considerable amount. It’s important that you are using latest version of GPU drivers for optimum performance.

#5 Project Cars Black Screen Issues
There are a few things you can try to resolve the issue. First, try running the game in windowed mode. Make sure that you aren’t using third party programs like FRAPS and bandicam etc.

You can also try tweaking your screen’s default refresh rate (try 60) as the conflict can result into black screen.

#6 Project Cars Audio Issues
Needless to say that you should first check if the in-game volume controls are set to give you some sound. If that’s not the issue, try updating the drivers for your sound card.

Still no luck? You should try verifying your game files via Steam.

#7 Project Cars Oculus Rift Shadow Bug
The team is aware of the issues with the shadows while using Oculus Rift and they will be fixing it with the future updates.

#8 Project Cars Invisible Mouse Pointer Fix
Try running the game in windowed mode to see the pointer. If that doesn’t help, you should try adding -dx9 to the command line of your game using launch options via Steam.

#9 Project Cars Game Won’t Start
If any of the above mentioned solutions haven’t helped you out and you are suing a Logitech controller, don’t forget to launch your profiler before starting the game.

If you come across any other issues, comment and we will try to help you out!

EDITL: Nevermind: forgot that publish exe won’t show debug info.

Do you run any OSD software (Such as MSI Afterburner? FRAPS? OBS?)
If so, shut everything down first.

Also, set the graphics setting to LOW or Medium (no more) and give it a try.

I was running msi but it was giving me issues in Grand Theft Auto V so I shut it down. My cpu is overclocked to 4.4 using my ASrock Mobo eufi options and have been since I got it over a year ago with no problems. No Fraps and no obs, altho I have both installed. The first thing I did after starting the game was turn all my gfx settings to ultra. Im currently reinstalling the game but when it finishes I will try to start a race without touching the visual settings first. If that is the problem then Im curious if there is a fix because I really wouldnt want to play the game if I couldnt play it without its full graphical fidelity.

I found that the game refused to run if I had TeamSpeak running and the overlay plugin activated.

Beware that ULTRA in this game, means that you should have TITAN-SLI setup (give or take).

But don’t freak out, If you keep AA in the lower side (MSAA, HIGH or DS4x) and HIGH on most settings, it will look as beautiful as ultra while driving. Maybe you can spot differences in still mode whatching closely.

I personally only use ULTRA Car and Tracks, and not always, I oftem change them to HIGH to have consistent 60fps

TeamSpeak works, I can assure that, along with PCARS. the overlay might cause some issued (although not to my systems).

Maybe it’s the Overwolf Overlay which causes the error

Are you getting the same error Im getting?

Yeah it is a very pretty looking game, I could settle for high if it does look that good still. Id still like to give it a try on ultra see how it looks even if my frames are crap. I just hope im even able to get the game running.
Im also going to try to close my logitech profiler I hear that has fixed it for some people. Again I want to use my wheel so I don’t think Id want to play that way either.

If disabling the overlay does not resolve this issue, might be worth verifying the files in Steam just to be sure there is nothing wrong with your download / install.

edit — From another thread, a reboot resolved a similar issue.

I dont have any overlay running, unless you mean the steam overlay.
I tried verifying my files on steam after I originally had the problem, I did not however try to reboot my system.

Project CARS is a new kind of racing game that offers you a more realistic driving simulation. This game is released on different gaming console and PC. But it do happens that sometimes the game does not work really well.  This guide is for those who are dealing with various problem on pc. I am going to cover various bugs and their fixes of this game here and with that I am also going to update upcoming information on same with its minimum and recommended system requirements. If your computer hardware is not good enough to run the game then you will surely face major performance problem. So you have to check that first.

Project CARS Minimum System Requirements:

  • Cpu – Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz or Phenom II X4 940 or higher
  • GPU – GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 5770 1024MB or higher
  • RAM – 2 GB
  • Direct X – DX 9
  • Storage Space – 7 GB

Project CARS Recommended System Requirements:

  • Cpu – Core i7-3770S 4-Core 3.1GHz or FX-8350 or higher
  • GPU – GeForce GTX 650 2GB or Radeon HD 7790 or higher
  • RAM – 8 GB
  • Direct X – DX 11
  • Storage Space – 7 GB

How to backup Project CARS Save Game :-

  • It is found that due to some reason or bugs many users are losing their game profile/save games. So, the first thing you have to do is backup your game profile/save game whenever needed. Or else you will lose all your progress. The location is C:Program Files (x86)Steamuserdata16232743234630localproject carsprofilesdefault.sav. Copy the default.sav file and keep it somewhere. Once the bug is resolved you won’t have to use these manually all the time.

Project Cars Stuttering, Poor Graphics and Lagging Issue:-

There is a common fix for this problem. The drivers. If you are having Nvidia Graphics Card then you have to update the latest drivers or else if you are having AMD then you will have to go with AMD website to download the latest driver. I had provided below the official download link that you can use:

  • Nvidia Driver download – http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
  • AMD Driver Download – http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

There are not official or optimized or beta drivers yet for Project CARS. Whatever GPU you are using, you have to just update its drivers to the latest one. That will do the job. A RAM upgrade will also help. Though the game ask only 2GB of RAM for the minimum gameplay, but if you have 4GB or higher then it will be a lot better. Try to reduce the graphics settings to minimum if your system has 2GB RAM only. Try to turn off Motion Blur, Detailed Grass, etc.

Project Cars Unhandled Exception Error Troubleshooting:-

This is another error that might appear on the launch. This error occurs due to misconfiguration of graphics settings in game. And it can be resolved easily. All you have to do is go in the My Documents folder of your system and look for the game folder in it. And get rid of graphicsconfigfile. Instead of deleting just cut paste the file somewhere. If you are not able to find the exact location then try to search this in the game installation drive or C drive. Sometime after deleting the file you might get black screen, but it would be resolved. If not then restore the file back.

Error Code – Unhandled exception trapped . EXCEPTION_ACCES_VIOLATION at 0x403c0ada. Reading from Address 0x0000000c:

  1. Right click on the game shortcut and choose Run as Administrator.
  2. The above error will usually appear on the start of the game. The game will crash with this. There is a tiny fix for this. For that you have to go in Documents and go in the CARS folder. From there you have to move the file graphicsconfigdx11. Cut paste it somewhere else. If the error is not resolved or any other error appears then restore the file back. For those who are on steam go in Steam launch option and add -dx8 or -x86 on the game shortcut.

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at0x40f12150. Reading from Address 0x2e53f1d1. Thread 0x00000bac:

  • This is another similar error that usually appears when you trying to start the game or when you are playing it. This error might popup in between and you won’t be able to play it further. The reason behind this is a active third party software in the background. If you are running software like Fraps for recording the gameplay then better turn it off to play the game smoothly. Also software like MSI After burner also interfere in between. The same issue is with TeamSpeak.

Project Cars Improper Camera:

  • Go in Game Settings and set value 0 for Force Feedback option.

Project Cars Pedal Mapping:

  • Go in Options and then click on Control. Click on Edit Assignment and from here click the pedal that is not working and then press the pedals to reconfigure.

Project Cars Slow Loading on Windows:

  • If the game is taking too long time to start then once after loaded try reducing the game graphics to lower level. The load time will increase if the resolution is very high with all extra graphic options turned on. This just shows that the gpu is not responding well on high settings.

Project Cars low FPS:

  • There is no direct solution for this problem. It looks like Nvidia and AMD might be working on some new driver updates to get more better FPS for this game. Yet the game developer has also not released any patch for this problem. So better wait for sometime or you can play the game with low graphic settings.
  • There is a possibility to boost the FPS speed of Project CARS. But that can be done through a modded driver and there is no 100% assurity that it will work. There are maximum chances that your current settings will be messed up. So it is better if you do this on your own risk. All you need is wipe out the old drivers and install AMD Catalyst 15.x WHQL Win 8.x MOD (15.200.1018.1 April 1) in your system. If this helps then you will gain more FPS or else your system will be messed up. To refix, remove this drivers and install the latest one. This is only for AMD graphic cards.

Project Cars stuck in Window Mode:

  • This is a rare error. It does not occur to everyone. But if you are facing this problem then you can resolve the issue through Steam. Start Steam and then go in the Steam Library. Right click on Project Cars and choose Properties. Then choose Local Files. There you have to click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This will resolve most of the problems.

project cars

Project CARS is now available on the PC and unfortunately there are several users who have reported all kinds of issues. From inconsistent performance during heavy rain to game crashes, it goes without saying that PC version does have it set of stability issues. After going through several forums and boards, we have found a list of best possible solution to counter these problems. Please be advised that the following methods are to be used at the sole discretion of the platform owner. GamingBolt or its staff members take no responsibility for problems that may arise or issues that may occur from trying the below. Always remember that official support is always the best support.

If you are facing issues with your gaming wheel, your hardware may not be compatible with the game. Not all wheels will work with Project CARS. For a compatibility check, please check out the official list here. If the game is stuttering, then you may need to update your drivers depending on the type of graphics card you use. Disabling “Detailed grass” and “Motion blur” have also reportedly reduced stuttering.

If Project CARS is crashing on startup, you need to check your drivers. The best way to do is to use the DriverScanner software. Some users have reported that the game does not launch at all. In order to solve this try verifying the steam cache files, restart your PC and game. There have been reports that weather conditions such as rain drastically impact performance and thereby reducing performance. There is no way to resolve this yet so let us hope that the developers release a patch soon.

If you are facing Unhandled Exception Errors, try deleting graphicsconfig file from the documents folder. Make sure you have a backup copy though. Adding -dx9 -x86 in the command line using launch options on Steam may also help to resolve this issue. Many users have also reported that they are facing black screen issues. As always, try running the game in windowed mode or changing the resolution of the game to check whether it resolves the issue.

For players who are having problems with their controller resulting into camera issues while braking, try setting Force Feedback option to Zero. For players who are playing the game with a G27, pedal mapping issues have been reported. There is a workaround which you can read over here. The solution is to bind the pedals, go to Options > Controls > Edit Assignments ->Click over the pedals functions that do not function and when requested press the pedals.

Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of Project CARS.
