If the fault 042-326 was declared 3 times in succession the print mode of the machine will be disabled. In order to clear this error you need to reset the NVM location 741-105 to 0. The error states that the IBT Belt Home position was not detected in time. Try the procedure below, but if you still get the error then there is a problem in the IBT area of the machine. It could be something simple like dirt of the sensor, a missing silver patch on the underside of the IBT belt or it could be the something to do with the tracking device on the IBT assembly.
To Get Into Service Mode; Press the 0 button for 5 seconds, then press start whilst still holding the 0 button.
Type in 6789 as the password and then press confirm. Press the log in/log out button
Go to systems settings common settings maintenance Change the NVM location 741-105 to 0 (on 550 560 570 C60 C70 it’s 741-119, DCP 700 700i 770 it’s 741-106, C75 J75 it’s 741-132, Versant 80 180 741-700, Versant 280 is 741-525), save and restart the machine.

Xerox 252, fault code 042-326 or 042-327
we just cleared a Bad Paper jam on our xerox 252, restarted the machine and now its giving us fault 042-326. Tried to move and center IBT Belt, then got fault code 042-327. Are these 2 faults related? How can they be cleared? Iam missing something?

Did you check IBT silver patch? Is it dirty?

I cleaned the silver patch inside the belt. Now it’s mainly fault 042-327Is there a way to set the belt in zero position?

First you need to remove the IBT assembly and make sure the belt is installed so that the IBT belt edge and the IBT belt frame are approx the same distance from the front and rear.
Next you need to run the Belt Edge Learn adjustment.
Enter diagnostics mode:
Press and hold the 0 key for 5 seconds.
While still holding the 0 key, press the start key.
The CE Access Number screen will appear.
Enter 6789 and confirm.
The topmost area of the UI display will change to a white banner with black lettering to let the user know that the mode has changed to the CE mode.Press the log in/out button.
select system settings
select common settings
select maintenance / diagnostics
select sub system
select belt edge learn
select startHope that fixes it for you. If not there are a bunch of additional steps to troubleshoot this error.

You can get a silver patch and place before the current silver patch. However, saying that I have replaced 2 pretty good belts due to the weather conditions. On days that are too cold I have noticed the edges of the belt curl upwards and the silver patch is sometimes not detected. When the room is an appropriate temperature the edges seem to go back into the appropriate shape.

Try to cut new silver patch from oracal film, and replace old patch with new one. I did that many times.

Make sure the optical sensor that reads the reflective patch is clean. Tends to get dusty.

Xerox colour 550 , 042 326 error code.
I have Xerox colour 550 and has an error 042 326.. It says IBT error. The operator of this machine already done resetting..but still the same. He asked me for help and when I check and turn on the machine it does not initializef and the error popped up immediately.. he already cleaned the silver patch and the optical sensor and got no luck we even set the silver patch of the IBT in home position with the sensor but of no success. Does it need new IBT or do I need to check it further?

| E1 | Произошло замятие бумаги в районе размещения печи (fuser unit). Устраните замятие. |
| E2 | Возле левой крышки произошло замятие. Аккуратно выньте зажеванные листы. |
| E3 | В зоне второго лотка произошло замятие. Аккуратно выньте зажеванные листы. |
| E4 | В зоне левой крышки застряла бумага. Аккуратно выньте зажеванные листы. |
| E5 | Открыты левая / передняя крышка. Перезакройте крышку. |
| E6 | Открыты крышки. Необходимо их закрыть. Если проблема не устраняется, обратитесь в сервисный центр с неполадкой датчиков фиксации. |
| E8 | Формат и ориентация бумаги в лотке не соответствует заданию печати. |
| E9 | Печать выходит за рамки формата бумаги. Измените масштаб в меню аппарата или отмените задание. |
J-коды
| J1 | Закончился тонер. Заправьте бункер хранения с помощью расходника 106R01277. |
| J3 | Картридж установлен неправильно или не может быть распознан. Установите комплектующее. При необходимости замените на новое. |
| J6 | Нужна замена картриджа. |
| J7 | Принт-картридж не работает. |
N-коды
| n1 | Память аппарата переполнена. Отмените задание. Перезагрузите устройство, а затем повторите операцию. |
| n4 | Ошибка передачи файла, отправленного в печать.
Также могут быть проблемы со считыванием документа: в таких случаях замените расширение PDF на JPG / PNG. |
| n5 | Ошибка связи между печатающим механизмом и сканером / ПК. Xerox 5020 автоматически устранит неполадку через некоторое время. |
| n9 | Ошибка связи отдельных элементов принтера. Требуется перезагрузка.
При повторном возникновении неисправности следует вызвать мастера. |
