You are not entitled to use the system horizon

Hi everyone, I’m setting up a VMware View 6 environment and presently I’m setting up Application Pools.

I have setup the a Windows 2008 R2 server to host an application. Enabled the application in the RemoteApp Manager portion of Windows 2008 as per the View installation guide.

After I added a Farm and in addition I added the Entitlements for the domain end users and groups who would have access to these configurations.

After completing this setup I was ready to try out the application via the Horizon View Client but unfortunately I get the following error;

Curious if anyone may know of any recommendations for getting around this?

Thanks in advance,

Neil

While performing a test Mailbox move from one database to another using New-MoveRequest, the move status was shown as queued, upon looking at the Get-MoveRequestStatistics saw the following error.

The environment I was working in was very sensitive to permissions assigned to user. I did double check the user I am using to run the MoveRequest as appropriate permissions.

Also, I did notice, the Move is successful on some databases. Hence, I tried moving to all databases and noted where the Move is failing. The databases on which Move failed were mounted on mailbox servers other than the souce (where the mailbox resides).

Added the mailbox servers to the Group, Rebooted the servers and issue was fixed.

Исправляем ошибку VMware в Windows 10: VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible

За это время моя Windows 10 обновлялась и судя по всему с одним из обновлений прилетела какая-то фигня, которая внесла определённые настройки в систему и VMware перестала запускать гостевые машины выдавая ошибку «VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Workstation can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard»

Исправляем ошибку VMware в Windows 10: VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible

Microsoft.

Device Guard».

Исправляем ошибку VMware в Windows 10: VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible

Windows 10: VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible

Enabling use of the VMware Horizon View 5.2 HTML5 Portal

Today I tried upgrading VMware’s View Connection and Security servers from 5.1 to 5.2. All went well, but when I browsed out to our security server, I noticed that the web client did not exist.

Solution:
Turns out that VMware View 5.2 itself doesn’t contain the HTML5 interface to control your desktop through the browser. In order to enable this feature, you must download the VMware Horizon View Feature Pack on the connection server as well as install the Remote Experience Agent with the HTML Access component on the virtual desktops. All of these can be obtained from the “My VMware” center.

First, I navigated to the VMware Horizon View 5.2 Feature Pack downloads and downloaded the VMware-Horizon-View-HTML-Access_x64-1.0.0-1049726.exe (Click here to go to the VMware download portal). Next, still inside of the VMware Horizon View Administrator web GUI, I navigated to Pools, selected the Pool I wanted to allow HTML5 Web Access to, hit Edit…, selected the Pools Settings tab, and checked HTML Access.

Solved : VMware Horizon View Client – User not entitled to use system

Fix: VMware Operating System not Found

Some Windows users that are trying to use VMware Workstation or VMware Player are reporting that they see the “Operating System not found” error during the bootup sequence of the virtual machine. The error is reported to occur when users try to install an OS from a physical drive or from an ISO file. The issue is not exclusive to a certain Windows version since it’s confirmed to occur on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

operating system not foundOperating System Not Found

What is causing the “Operating System not found” error?

We looked into this particular issue by analyzing various user reports and the repair strategies that are most effective in resolving this particular error. As it turns out, there are multiple culprits that have the potential of triggering the “Operating System not found” error:

If you’re currently to resolve the same error message, this article will provide you with tested solutions that might just fix the issue for you. Down below, you’ll find several methods that other users encountering the “Operating System not found” error have successfully used to fix this particular issue.

Because the methods below are ordered via their efficiency and difficulty, we advise you to follow them in the order that they are presented. One of them is bound to resolve the issue regardless of the culprit that ends up causing it.

Method 1: Verifying that the ISO is bootable

In most cases, this particular issue occurs with users that are mistakenly trying to use an ISO file that actually contains a package with updates instead of a bootable OS. Keep in mind that you need to use a bootable operating system media in order for the mounting to be successful on your virtual machine.

If you are seeing the “Operating System not found” error when attempting to install an OS file on VMware, start by ensuring that the ISO you’re using is actually bootable. In the event that you determine that the ISO that you are using is not bootable, go for a different option or follow the next method below.

Method 2: Specifying that you’re using a physical device (if applicable)

If you’re trying to install the OS from a bootable disk, chances are you get the “Operating System not found” error because you’ve failed to specify the boot drive. In order to boot from a physical CD/DVD without encountering issues, you’ll need to tell VMware (via the Settings menu) that it needs to boot from a physical CD or DVD.

Here’s a quick guide on how to do this:

If you’re still encountering the “Operating System not found” error, move down to the next method below.

Method 3: Recreating the virtual machine

Some affected users have reported that they were able to resolve the issue by recreating the virtual machine and making sure that BIOS is preferred instead of UEFI. Others that we’re using VM Fusion or VMware workstation have reported that unchecking Easy Install has resolved the issue for them.

Here’s a quick guide on recreating the virtual machine:

If the same “Operating System not found” error is still occurring, move down to the next method below.

Method 4: Ensuring that you get to see the Windows Installer screen

As it turns out, with certain virtual machine configurations the VMware has the potential of attempting to PXE boot and ends up failing because the user is unable to connect with the VM quick enough and press a key at the Press any key to boot into Windows Installer screen quick enough.

If this scenario is applicable, you can resolve the issue by establishing a boot delay of 6 seconds or higher in order to give yourself the time to act during the Press any key to boot into Windows Installer screen.

Here’s a quick guide on how to do this:

How to Fix VMware Internal Error?

VMware is a nice software for making and running virtual machines on your computer. It allows you to run multiple guest operating systems (virtual machines) at the same time on a single host. Many people use VMware to run other operating systems like Linux etc on their Windows operating systems. VMware has many versions available like the Vmware player, which is free and VMware workstation, which is a paid version with additional features. Many users have been receiving an error on Vmware which says “Vmware internal error” while trying to start a virtual machine in VMware which is usually caused by VMware Windows authorization service failing to start.

vmware internal errorVmware Internal Error

Let us start with the causes of the error in detail and then we will be mentioning the solutions that you can implement to fix the issue.

What causes the Vmware Internal Error?

The VMware internal error is usually caused by the VMware authorization service not running properly in Windows but it can be caused by some other reasons as well depending on the scenario. Below are some of the reasons for this error to occur in Windows.

There are some solutions that you can try to fix this error. As the solutions depend on the cause of the problem/error so each solution might not give the results but you can try all and hopefully, one or the other will work for you.

The first solution you can try is to run the VMware authorization service in Windows with administrative privileges. For this, you will have to make sure that you are logged in as an administrator. After that, do the following:

Solution 2: Reinstall Vmware with the Repair Option

For some users, the issue has been resolved by reinstalling VMware using the Repair option in the Control Panel. To reinstall Vmware by repairing it, you need to do the following:

Solution 3: Start VMware with Administrative Privileges

The VMware authorization process is used because it allows a non-administrator to create virtual machines. Now, if you start VMware with Administrative privileges, then you won’t need that service to be running to create a virtual machine as you are the administrator yourself in that case. So if by following solution 1 does not get rid of the error for you then you should try starting Vmware with Administrative privileges.

To do that you just need to open Vmware workstation or VMware player with administrative privileges. You can run an app in Windows using Administrative privileges by right-clicking on it and clicking the option “Run as Administrator”.

Solution 4: Stop and Restart all VMware Services

If for some reason, your problem does not get solved by trying all of the solutions above, you can stop and restart all of the VMware services and see if it fixes your problem.

This will stop all the services related to Vmware running on your Windows machine.

The next thing to do is to start these services again. Run these commands in the command prompt (cmd).

Now see if Vmware still gives you this error while trying to launch a virtual machine. If the error was due to a service required by VMware not running properly, then stopping and starting them again would hopefully fix the problem.

I’ve been trying to setup a VMware View connection server. I feel like I am getting it close to having it working, but haven’t had success yet. The current issue is that the connection server tells me I am «not entitled» to use the system after logging in with my domain credentials. I don’t know why this is the case, because I am explicitly set as an administrator to the system!

So my question is slightly two-fold I guess…

  1. Where do user credentials come from? I am assuming they are from Active Directory, since that is what I am prompted to log into a domain.
  2. How do I give a user privileges to access the system? I have looked all through the web admin interface of the connection server. There is a section to add users, but when I search for a domain user in here no users are returned. In fact, there are no users at all.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I guess I have this figured out now…

  1. Users come from Active Directory, as I thought.
  2. To add entitlements to a user, you must FIRST add a desktop source and then entitle a user (even a new user) to use the resource. It seems backwards to me, but that’s the way it works.

This error means that the server doesn’t have any desktops entitled to you.

One subtle way this could happen is if all of your entitled desktops
are only being made available through a protocol your client doesn’t
support.

Since the Mac client only supports RDP, if your desktops only allow
PCoIP, I believe you could get this message.

If that’s not the problem let me know.

Thanks, Jacob.

I’ve asked my helpdesk at work to look into this.

The thing is… it was all working fine on Tuesday of this week (and
for several weeks before that), and then suddenly the error message
appeared on Thursday even tho’ I hadn’t changed anything (from my
end).

Doesn’t that seem to indicate that the problem is at the work end, not
the home end (the Mac)?

Thank you again, much appreciate your help.

Okay, bizarrely last night/early this morning the system is now
working fine. This seems to me to indicate that something in the
system at work was, er, «stuck», if that makes sense. However would
like my helpdesk to work out what it was so if it happens again they
can fix it!

Thanks again for your help, Jacob, please do let me know if you think
of anything else.
