Rise and fall civilizations at war data patch ошибка

Hey folks, and welcome to RiseAndFall_CaW, the community dedicated to the life of the game Rise and Fall: Civilizations at war by Midway Games. As with any other game, it is important for players to actually have it installed. There are two methods that I personally know of that work.

Method 1 (Requires physical disk, Windows pre-Windows 10)

If you have the physical disk, installing and running normally should work as long as you are running a version of windows BEFORE Windows 10. Warning: Installing on Windows 10 causes a scary boot-loop in which Windows attempts to self repair and fails. This is due to the outdated StarForce drm drivers that the game installs on your computer. If you are stuck in this boot-loop, please look near the bottom of this post for instructions on how to get back into Windows and then remove the StarForce drivers.

Method 2 (No physical disk required, all Windows XP+ known to work)

Step 1 — Download and Install Game

For this method, you will need to install the base game somehow, either using the physical disc or finding it online. (I’ve uploaded the install disc as a torrent which can be downloaded here. I’ll update this post once I have a better solution to this)

Step 2 — Remove StarForce Drivers

Once you install the game, if using Windows 10, go ahead and remove the StarForce drivers (instructions below) or you will run into the same boot-loop. Once the game is installed and the drivers have been removed, download the v1.15 patch from the following site, and run:

Step 3 — Download and Extract No-DVD Patch

Once that is done, your game will be on v1.15, but would still require the disc to run. In order to get around this, you will need to use a no-disc patch. This can be found here:

Download the file archive at the bottom of the page titled «Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War v1.15 [ENGLISH] No-DVD/Fixed Files». Extract these files into the game install directory, replacing old files.

Step 4 — Install No-DVD Patch Using .bat Script

At this point, you should run install.crack.bat (not as administrator) as administrator, however, I’ve had trouble with this bat file as when running a bat, it automatically runs it from C:WindowsSystem32 or something, which breaks the script. I edited it to work with Windows 10 64-bit, which installs RaF:CaW to C:Program Files (x86)Midway Home EntertainmentRise and Fall. My updated script can be downloaded from here:

Simply download, replace the install.crack.bat in the install folder with this new one you downloaded, run as administrator, and you should be good to go. Just be aware it may take a few minutes to execute the script, so be patient. If you see error messages or «could not find» messages you may have done something wrong. Check your files and try again, making sure the isntall.crack.bat is in the installation folder (it should be in the same folder as RiseAndFall.exe) and there are data folders and rnfextractor.exe in the /Data folder.

**Update: for some reason it now works for me to run the regular install.crack.bat as not an administrator. If this doesn’t work for you, try the install.crack.bat included in this folder as administrator, Right-clicking->Edit in case you installed it to a different folder:

Step 5 — Running Game With Updated -Data and -Redist Paths

Once done, you are almost ready to play the game! In order to run the game, you will need to manually tell it which data folder to use, but here is a bat I wrote to automatically do this, called RunMe.bat:

Place RunMe.bat in the install folder (the same place where the rise and fall .exe is) and you can run this as administrator to begin the game.

**Tip: Create a shortcut to your desktop and rename it Rise and Fall, and now you can launch from your desktop 🙂

At this step in the journey you should have a playable copy of Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War on your Windows 10 Machine. Have fun and enjoy 🙂

Removing StarForce Drivers

It is very important to remove the StarForce drivers from a Windows 10 installation. Not doing so will result in an infinite boot-loop that will not let you access your OS. If you are stuck and need help, please look below for instructions on how to get back into Windows 10 so you can remove the drivers.

To remove the StarForce drivers, download and run this program (provided by star force):

Getting back into Windows from a boot-loop

Good, job, you’ve broken your Windows system and you cannot get back in. To get around that and get back in, after Windows fails the self-repair, follow these instructions: press «Troubleshoot», go to «Advanced Options», go to «Startup Settings», and press 7 for «Disable driver signature enforcement». This will allow you to boot. Upon entering your desktop, you must follow the directions above to remove the StarForce drivers. Failure to remove these drivers will cause this same boot-loop error to occur again.
