Hi

We have a dell power edge r650 with 2 power supplies going into it. Both psu’s have the green lights on for power going in.

After 1hr the server goes off and the LCD display on the front says «RDU0012 psu redundancy check psu cables»

I have tried just having 1 power cable in same issue

I have tried 1 power cable in the other psu same issue.

I can press the power button and the server comes on.

It’s exactly 1hr when it turns off.

Any ideas people?

    We’ve had this before. You need to update the firmware on the system-Motherboard which power supply firmware and iDRAC firmware.

    BTW, thanks for letting try out my DeLoren to go to the future and work on a R650.

  • Had a similar problem. Turned out that the CPU fan was damaged. Check the all the fans.

    Mostly is an indication of the motherboard on its way out, i had to replace mine and then when it happened again, I end up replacing the server.

Issue

Lost power supply redundancy. Check PSU cables.
Power is still being supplied to the Appliance hardware.

Resolution

The message ?Lost power supply redundancy. Check PSU cables.» means the power supply subsystem is no longer redundant. If the remaining power supply fails, the system will shut down.

Where the RSA Key Manager Appliance (now called RSA Data Protection Manager) is using a Dell PowerEdge R710 then you can refer to the Dell Manual at URL http://www.manualowl.com/m/Dell/PowerEdge-R710/Manual/189655?page=158 for troubleshooting the power supply.

After troubleshooting the power supply try removing the LCD status message by clearing the SEL. Refer to page 23 of the Dell PowerEdge Hardware owners Guide (URL http://www.manualowl.com/m/Dell/PowerEdge-R710/Manual/189655?page=23).

А как бы белые люди решали такую задачу. Есть заббикс и есть сервера Dell PowerEdge. Нужно мониторить факт наличия питания по обоим блокам питания каждого из серверов. Ну то есть, обнаружить, что у нас отпало электричество на одном из БП.

Технически, эта информация отдаётся DRAC-ом по IPMI. В даччике типа descreet. С которыми Заббикс работать не умеет. Инфа с даччика выглядит так:

Редунданси стейт, соответственно, может быть либо [Fully Redundant], а может быть как сейчас, [Redundancy Lost].

В связи с чем взыскуется какое-то скриптовое решение, позволяющее выдернуть текущий Redundancy state. Про grep -A NUM я знаю, но оно выдаёт две строки:

gateway@mail:~$ ipmitool -H 10.0.20.4 -U zabbix -P trylyalya -L user sensor get «PS Redundancy» | grep -A 1 «States Asserted»
States Asserted : Redundancy State
[Redundancy Lost]

Можно, конечно, сделать так:

| grep -A 1 «States Asserted»|grep -v «States Asserted»

чтобы получить в итоге одну строку с [Redundancy Lost]. Но это как-то криво, нет ли какого-нибудь более прямого способа?

Немного странно, что эта машина появляется на хорошей машине. Попробуйте снять статическое электричество на сервере, отключите блок питания, нажмите кнопку питания, подождите минуту или две, а затем снова включите его.

Кстати, я нашел способ для ESXi блокировать IPMI в Интернете, я его не тестировал, поэтому сначала сохраню.

Нажмите shift + O в этом интерфейсе, введите runweasel noipmiEnabled, чтобы пропустить загрузку ipmi_si_drv

Это решение просто пропускает загрузку драйвера ipmi и завершится ошибкой после перезапуска.

После успешного запуска используйте эту команду, чтобы отключить модуль. модуль esxcfg -d ipmi_si_drv

Или через клиент перейдите в Configuration> Advanced Settings> Vmkernel> Boot, VMKernel.Boot.ipmiEnabled.

Шаги разрешения

В большинстве случаев путем тестирования в нескольких средах ошибку можно устранить с помощью следующих шагов.

  4. Снова загрузитесь в BIOS idrac и убедитесь, что iDRAC LAN и IPMI over LAN включены, сохраните и выйдите, выйдите, и система перезагрузится.

  5. Загрузите систему в операционной системе и попробуйте обновить микропрограмму iDRAC до последней доступной версии.

Если проблема не исчезнет, ​​это означает, что iDRAC не работает должным образом и его необходимо заменить. Это также может быть связано с проблемой материнской платы, потому что iDRAC уже установлен.
