I’m trying to install ia32-libs on Precise (it’s a dependency of CrossOverPro which is actually what I’m trying to achieve, but I don’t think that’s relevant). That package won’t install, and tracing through the chain of reported unmet dependencies, I get to libgnome-keyring0, which won’t install because of two unmet dependencies, both of which appear to be installed. Which leaves me not knowing how to proceed.

Parenthetically, I have no idea why libpurple0 shows up in the last-but-one step.

Могу сказать что делал: выполнил команду sudo apt-get install -f
Затем все идет хорошо, но потом такая вот ошибка:
Извлечение шаблонов из пакетов: 97%E: Невозможно определить версию debconf. Он установлен?
debconf: ошибка при работе apt-extracttemplates: No such file or directory
ВСЕ.

на второй команде ошибка опять. Видимо из-за того, что ноут упал.

скорей всего диск посыпался, с лайвсд покажите смарт
можно попробть восстановить /var/lib/dpkg/status из резервной копии

Но смарт диска всеж надо глянуть, и начинать инфу бэкапить.

мож попробать из бэкапа

E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Now it seems I am starting to chase down a rabbit hole of conflicting packages.
I’ve trying to install atom on my Red Hat machine, but I’m getting a dependency error for libgnome-keyring:
$ sudo yum localinstall atom.x86_64.rpm
Setting up Local Package Process
Examining atom.x86_64.rpm: atom-0.140.0-0.1.fc20.x86_64

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
I have gnome-keyring and gnome-keyring-devel installed, which I figured would be the main two to provide the lib:
$ sudo yum install gnome-keyring-devel
Setting up Install Process
Package gnome-keyring-devel-2.28.2-8.el6_3.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
$ sudo yum list installed | grep gnome-keyring
gnome-keyring.i686 2.28.2-8.el6_3 @el64/$releasever
gnome-keyring.x86_64 2.28.2-8.el6_3 @el64/$releasever
gnome-keyring-devel.x86_64 2.28.2-8.el6_3 @RHEL-65-x86_64

And I can’t even find it using yum provides:
$ sudo yum provides libgnome-keyring*
No Matches found
A quick google doesn’t turn up anything immediately obvious, does anyone have any ideas why I seem to be missing libgnome-keyring?

Greetings!
I got libgnome-keyring0_3.0.0-1_amd64 with my full-update with SMXI this morning.
After that, the keyring wouldn’t remember any passwords, and empathy wouldn’t log into any accounts. A restart didn’t help.
I downgraded to 2.32.0-1 and everything works again.
Anybody else with this problem?

Sort of the same problem here.
Just installed Debian Sid from testing netinst and update. When synaptic pops up asking for password, the keyring option doesn’t appear. I copied all the keyring configuration files from another sid install (about a week old), and I can see the keys in System/Preferences/Passwords and encryptation keys (seahorse). But the key described as «Local password for user root» as copied from the other install, inside the default or login folder, does not work now.
Using the version 2.32 of libgnome-keyring.

I had exactly the same problem. I solved it, by downgrading libgnome-keyring0 at 2.32 version. The only difference is, that i have the i386 version.

Thanks for the confirmation. I hope the maintainers are aware of the problem, and that a fix is in the pipeline.

The problem is that libgnome-keyring0 is at version 3.0, and gnome-keyring itself is at version 2.30, either because someone forgot to put a versioned dependency in the package, or becasuse someone was a little careless and uploaded to unstable instead of experimental. You can fix this by either downgrading libgnome-keyring0 or upgrading gnome-keyring from experimental.
If you use libpam-gnome-keyring, you should make sure you also have the same version of that as well.
The dependencies for upgrading to 3.0 are simple just GTK+3 — upgrading won’t pull in lots of Gnome 3.0, and won’t call for lots of packages to be removed.
I installed Gitkraken as I have a few projects I want to work on with my KDE Neon box. now I was pretty sure I installed everything but I ran gitkraken in a terminal and I got this

libgnome-keyring.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Error: libgnome-keyring.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory
(I’ll post the rest if deemed necessary)
The problem is I have keyring installed

This is the Ubuntu version, should work on Debian etc. too. So you don’t have to find out the package names.

I had the same error. Even though you have gnome-keyring installed, you specifically need libgnome-keyring. I would try to find a package to install that starts with libgnome-keyring. Good luck!

Download libgnome-keyring0 for Ubuntu GNU/Linux
Get libgnome-keyring0 .deb for Ubuntu
Grab both Packages!

3. Installing libgnome-keyring0
Then to Set up GKSu on Ubuntu
First, Access the Target, usually in the Downloads folder:cd && cd Downloads
To Check that there is run:
ls . | grep keyring
The grep Command Refine the output List showing only the entries Matching the Keyword.
But if you are in Trouble to Find Out it on Terminal See: How to Access Downloads Folder from Browser.
And then to Setup libgnome-keyring0:sudo apt install ./*keyring*.deb ./multiarch*.deb
Authenticate with the User Admin Pass.
If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo
