Можно было бы попробовать параметр запуска  -dxlevel 90, но для этого придётся запускать игру через ярлык для launcher_alt, которого я не вижу, кстати. Через него же пиратка запускается.

Я удивляюсь, каким образом этот клиент вообще в состоянии запускаться (на встроенной графике), launcher_alt нету, других лаунчеров тоже не вижу, кроме какого-то батника «Запустить Left4Dead2», какие-то куски от FreeTP лежат)) Видимо, в сборку от FreeTP положили апдейтер и лаунчер от ВСМ, и обновились. Если нет конкретной цели запускать и лицензию и пиратку с одного и того же клиента, то лучше скачать нормальную рабочую сборку ВСМ, а не колдовать с бубном.

Кстати, DirectX нужно ставить не с сайта майкрософта, а найти норм пакет со всеми библиотеками, только оригинальными и без вирусни, разумеется. На сайте там веб-установщик, и как показала практика, он не докачивает несколько последних библиотек, поэтому запускать его смысла нету. Но эти библиотеки нужны для «особенных» игрулек, и их отсутствие вряд ли повлияет на работу лефта.
