Hi,
The error «0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501» comes from trying to submit a message on the Exchange transport. The code 0x0004b9 is an ecNullObject from Store, indicating that the failure occurred because an object referenced was null. This implies that this user was having some intermittent networking issue that happened to hit at the time the message was submitted.
This behavior is by design and the error is expected when network failures occur. If your computer is connected via wireless or a WAN link, then random failures on the network can be common, and that would explain the behavior. Even on a local area network, RPC failures are not uncommon.
In general, this problem is likely caused by intermittent network connectivity issues, or possibly out-of-resource problem on the client machine.
So I suggest you check your network environment to see if there is something abnormal.
Thanks,
Elvis

Symptom: you try to send an email using Outlook to someone and you get the following bounce back message:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. The client operation failed. Error is [0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501].
Possible causes and solutions:
- This error can be caused by intermittent network problems in which case simply resending the message should work.
- Outdated DNS entries on the cache in which case flushing the DNS cache should do the trick. To clear up the cache start the command line utility and type ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. That should clear the cache so when you resend the email the recipient’s address will be resolved again and it should work fine.
- Local address book entries are out of sync with the corresponding server entries. In this case removing the particular address from your local address book should resolve the issue. In Outlook 2010 to remove the entry from your local address book do the following: start typing the address in question on the address bar of a new email, a drop down appears with all matching names; move the mouse over the address of interest and you will see a red «x» appear on the side of that name — click on it to remove that entry.
If you tried all the above and are still receiving he same error put a comment here and we will try to help you identify the problem.

A user was complaining he can’t send meeting request or some emails to specific users. The user gets bounced mail (NDR) and NDR has the following error message.
This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. The client operation failed. Error is [0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501].
I do realize I moved bunch of mailboxes and the user complaining he can’t send mails to those moved mailboxes. When I try to track the message using Exchange console, I don’t see this mail hitting Exchange at all. So this is Outlook specific issue. It became clear user’s Outlook didn’t get the latest mailbox move information (Offline Address Book). I informed user to download the Outlook Offline Address Book manually (Outlook: Tools –> Send/Receive –> Download Address Book and click OK on the dialog box).
