I BOUGHT A NEW PACK OF NFS UNDERGROUND, UNDERGROUND 2 AND MOST WANTED..
I’VE INSTALLED UNDERGROUND 2, BUT WHEN I ATTEMPT TO LAUNCH THE GAVE BY INSERTING THE DISK 2, IT GIVES THE FOLLOWING ERROR: ‘SPEED.EXE HAS STOPPED WORKING’!!

Make sure you have the 1.2 patch applied, this helped me get it running on my system. You may need to disable your virus protection or switch it to game mode for the game to launch too (I had this with AVG, but not Avast). Once you get it running there are some good texture overhauls you might look into out there that make the game look really good, considering its age.

Yeah, it was a collection of 3 DVDs that I’ve recently bought..it has NFS under ground(1&2) and Most wanted!!

How do I go about applying this new patch bru!!…I’m sorry, but I’m very new to this gaming thing!!…Had purchased an Xbox 360 controller to play those games on my PC…But this Darn NFS isn’t launching…..
Is there any problem with my PC’s specs????

Also…my Anti- virus is also Avast!!!..so should I try to disable that while launching….Is there anything else I can do???? Please do tell me how to get that patch[ Don’t even know what patch is!!!…embarrassed!! 🙁 ]

PURCHASED IT ON www.flipkart.com…Go there and check if they are selling legal products or not!!…

You can get the patch from NFS-Planet. Once you have the file you just need to run it, like any other installer. Once it is updated you will likely need to go into the .exe’s properties again and set XP compatibility mode and run as admin. As for Avast, I did not need to disable it to get the game to run, I did for AVG though.

Download Origin and see if the CD key works to activate the product. You should be able to download a fully patched version.

Setting the Game to run on 1 Core is a Must to get it even remotly stable.
There is a way to make it permanent (required as afinity does not stop any process already started in a different core, meaning it may still crash the game).

Скачал с нашего сайта сабж. Установил с последним патчем. Но непонятные проблемы: при запуске сначала идёт загрузка, потом чёрный экран с игровым курсором мыши. И всё. Я и запускал на одном ядре, и ставил совместимость с ХРюшей, и запускал от админа, и добавлял в исключения ДЕП. Но ничего не помогает. У меня уже подозрения, что на сайт выложена неработоспособная версия.
@kreol, Да. Кроме того, использовал широкоформатный патч. Может, из-за него такое?
Зависит от монитора, наверное. Но попробовать без него стоит, да.

Вообще, там ведь, по-моему, и на одном из образов есть crack? Если да, то предлагаю сначала попробовать с ним (то есть без патча). Если заработает — то уже можно не беспокоиться об игре как таковой (хотя она перед выкладыванием, естественно, проверялась) и экспериментировать с патчами.
Ладно, тогда завтра вечером после работы попробую переустановить и запустить чистую.
@kreol, Переустановил заново. Решил запустить чистую игру всяких патчей, кряков. Выскакивает ошибка Cannot locate the CD-ROM. Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application.
Без NoCD оно, само собой, и будет выдавать эту ошибку.

@kreol, И вот что странно: загрузочный экран сейчас запускается «на весь монитор», хотя я после переустановки широкоформатный патч не ставил.

@kreol, Нет, как и в первый раз, сначала загрузочный экран, а потом чёрный экран с курсором.
Сейчас попробую снова ВСЁ установить, только в другом порядке.
@Mel Shlemming, в любом случае мы постараемся проверить игру дополнительно.
Пока оставлю попытки. Всё, что мог придумать, уже перепробовал. Ничего не помогает. Может, что-то с катсценами не так? Чёрный экран появляется в тот момент, когда должна быть заставка EA Games. Я уж было подумал, что всё из-за того, что заставки пытаются подстроиться под мой монитор. Пробовал через конфиг широкоформатного патча выставить оригинальный размер — безрезультатно.

В реестре попробуйте найти упоминания игры или папки с игрой, удалить игру, почистить нужное в реестре, потом установить обратно.

Или может настройки хранятся в C:UsersимяпользователяAppDataRoaming или AppdataLocal или в My Documents.

Это чтобы стереть последствия широкоэкранного патча. (Который видимо не удалился при удалении игры, какие-то файлы или записи в реестре оставил.)

@Mel Shlemming, dgVoodoo пробовали? Еще можно попробовать заменить ролики вступительные заглушками и посмотреть, что будет.

@Mel Shlemming, в первый раз после установки тоже смотрел на черный экран с курсором. Удалил. Поставил заново игру применив режим совместимости с WinXP SP2 на файл установщика. Установил патч 1.4. Скопировал поверх nocd соответствующей версии (брал не с нашего сайта, так как у нас релиз от Deviance и nocd я тоже скачал от Deviance). Добавил библиотеки dgVoodoo WIP58 (игра использует d3d9). Установил на исполняемый файл (Speed.exe) режим совместимости с WinXP SP2 и все заработало. Не знаю, что из описанных шагов стало критичным, но игра теперь работает с роликами, как положено. Уже можно и без патча переустановить с nocd с первого диска, и без режима совместимости — все равно работает. Да и вместо dgVoodoo можно использовать соответствующие библиотеки от WineD3D, например. Прикладываю их и nocd от Deviance для 1.4 (просто на всякий случай — с нашим nocd с сайта тоже работает).

@TheMadLynx, Спасибо большое!!! Wine помог! Вот только теперь почему-то несмотря на NoCD игра трясёт с меня диск №2.
@Mel Shlemming, стоит попробовать вставить образ в привод: многие NoCD позволяют лишь «определить» образ диска в виртуальном приводе как «родной», но не играть без него.
@kreol, смонтировал второй диск (именно на нём находится «мультимедийная» часть игры: музыка, звуки, видео) — и сразу всё запустилось.
