Возможные решения:

1. Попробуйте заменить USB-кабель. Как это ни странно звучит, но из-за кабеля действительно могут происходить подобные сбои в печати.
2. Также может помочь переустановка драйверов. Перед этим удалите старые через диспетчер устройств и установите последние с офиц.сайта производителя.

I understand that you receive an error while printing.
It appears that the printer driver is corrupted or you were having an old printer and the drivers might be conflicting. You have to uninstall and reinstall the driver for Samsing printer as well as make sure uninstall th eold printer driver (if any). Also, check for the USB drivers as it may not be compatble with Samsung drivers.

SPL-C ERROR with Samsung CLX-3160 FN when printing from iMac

This can be fixed by stretching out a solenoid spring on the power cord side of the printer. The solenoid acts as a clutch to stop the spinning developer actuator at the right spot. The picture below is from a Samsung CLP-300 but these both use the same Imaging Unit so this should work. It’s just a little more involved taking off the top scanner / buttonpad off the CLX-3160.

Open up the right side (power cord side) of the printer (take off top cover, then take off side cover). Then, find a solenoid (little metal square) that touches the white plastic vertical spur gear. Take the spring off the solenoid. Now, put the spring back on — only this time you will attach one anchor point to the middle of the spring as to pre-stretch the spring for more tension.

The problem is that the spring gets weak over time / the cogs round out over time and the solenoid finger is overcome by the spinning cogs, and resulting in selecting the wrong developer.

Story:
I have b215 for 4 weeks, on did face many issues so far.(like : not starting printing any jobs until laptop restart; gibberish symbols printed even from direct webinterface upload pdf (so skipping spooler and system I assume); and also this)

It doesn’t occur everytime, but amount of issues I face for past month is overwhelming.

Connected through wifi, router 0.5m from printer, 0.5m further there’s laptop.

It occured even today — with latest (today checked wupdate, so hopefully after the dread May’s update printer issue) win10 system, latest firmware on printer (88.000.60.000), latest drivers from website.

* (was default) RAW + snmp

* and LPR without snmp and lpr byte counting

Today switched form PCL6 to SPL, will see tomorrow if it occurs again. (I don’t have high hopes about that, but maybe at least error switches from pcl6 error to spl error 🙂

If it does occur I yet plan to check directly using usb cable, but that’s last thing that comes into my mind with this device.

The problem maybe occurs more if I print something, not to anything for like an hour or so, and then try to print again. ?

I’m lost what else can I do.

* Any ideas ?
* Is there some extended debug log to look for issues ? (either windows, or printer?)
* Is this «timeout» somehow controlled in settings? (I only Properties->Security-System timeout, but that doesn’t seems related? I increased it to 10 mins.. didn’t help, should set in hours?)

* is there any certain way to determine is this a driver issue, system (as in windows) issue, or printer issue?
Didn’t yet have the chance to try different device connected to the same driver with wifi, nor different printer to same laptop, that’s on my list.

* any chance it’s related to router or something ?

I really need reliable printer, and can’t go through «restart printer, router & laptop» routine each time I want to print something. maybe I misconfigured something I don’t know..

After that printer stops printing at all.

Could you comment each lines of this message and explain how to fix this issue.

The driver (PCL6 for 3315) was downloaded from xerox support web-site. And there is no print-server in the net, so I’m not sure LPR-mode will work correctly. Could you explain how to configure LPR (» queue name» and others).

Добрый день. Принтер подключен по LPT, после посыла на печать пишет:

В связи с выше изложенным вопросы:
1. В чем проблема моего принтера, как ему помочь?
2. Если проблема с прошивкой(FW), возможно ли ее поменять без программатора?
3. Если возможна перепрошивка без программатора, то с благодарностью приму в дар необходимую мне прошивку

Вас не туда повело, скорее всего. Можете, конечно, начать и с прошивки — но ТОЛЬКО если он и «с кнопки» вместо внутреннего отчета печатает такое же сообщение. Иначе — обратитесь к дровам, ОС, режиму порта, подключению по USB, и т.д.

Внутренний отчет проверю завтра.
На текущих драйверах принтер печатал, затем перестал, с выводом на печать выше приведенной ошибки.
ОС не менялась (возможно обновлялась).
По USB подключить не представляется возможным, принтер только с LPT разъемом.

У нас тож проверочный такой и подключен по USB.

(3,4,5) — а может у него усб на нём подпалёный и/или разъём выпаян? 🙂

(6). а дырка сбоку в корпусе — аккуратно заклеена?)

(7) Гы, про конкретно дырку в (2) ничего нет. Но понял свою ошибку в (6), за что, конечно, спасибо, — переформулирую: может у него усб разъём выпаян на нём, плюс ещё может и подпалёный.
(2) Дровищи всё жеж переставить бы ему. И если не поможет, то на другом компе/ноуте бы проверить.

Всем большое спасибо.

В результате проверки выяснилось:
1. «с кнопки» внутренний отчет печатается нормально
2. на другом компьютере с теми же драйверами принтер функционирует нормально
Соответсвенно причина не в принтере, не в интерфейсе и не в драйверах, а в компьютере — с этим я разберусь позже.

При печати нескольких страниц все ОК. Стандартные настройки при печати
подобных документов:

1. Брошюра (Acrobat 8 )
2. Программный или аппаратный дуплекс в драйвере принтера

Обычно печатает не более 10 страниц и выдает:

Или подвисает принтер в ожидании задания мигая индикатором, а диспечер
печати выдает ошибку.

При печати из Photoshop скана на 600dpi аналогичное поведение (правда
в этом случае вообще ничего не печатается). Как только уменьшаю до
300dpi — все печатает. Опытным путем было установлено что магическая
цифра задания на печать в пределах всего навсего 8Мб.

На работе тоже какой-то принтсервер D-Link на принтере HP-2015 с
апппаратным дуплексом. Проблемы аналогичные. Админы разводят руками и
говорят что: «ну не печатает он большие задания».

Заранее спасибо, надеюсь проблему будет возможно как-то устранить. А
то на сетевом принтере печатать по 10 страниц и вручную их
переворачивать как-то не правильно ))))
