d8

PC specs:
- Intel i5-4690K
- ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150 Mobo
- MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB
- G.skills X Series 8GB RAM (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
- Samsung 840 EVO SSD
- Seagate Barracuda HDD
After transporting and doing maintenance on my rig it seems to be throwing an A2 error. All I did was clean the insides of dust, added a OCZ Z-Drive R4 SSD and changed the CMOS battery (cleared CMOS) after experiencing date and time loss if PC unplugged.
Actions I have taken:
- Made sure all connectors inside the case were firmly seated (especially the PSU plugs. To make sure I didn’t knocked anything lose while cleaning).
- Removed Z-Drive SSD.
- Removed all storage devices but boot device.
- Removed GPU.
- Removed 3 of 4 sticks of RAM.
- Unplugged all peripheral devices.
Error codes I have seen: A2/D7 /64. After seeing an A2 error code. I proceeded to unplug the mouse and keyboard and restarted the PC. I saw a D7 code so plugged in the keyboard. After doing so, the 64 code appeared.
Please could someone help me out because I have exhausted my knowledge on this one.
Cheers

You transported your system. That code is a motherboard code for the CPU.
If I were you I would unplug everything. Even the boot drive. Leave 1 stick of RAM and plug your monitor on your motherboard graphics port and remove the GPU. Leave your system barebone with only the stuff you need plugged in.
If that doesn’t work I would check the CPU for bent pins. Transporting a PC can be hard on the CPU heatsink and you never know. Could bend pin.

I have a feeling that the issue was with replacing the CMOS battery. Leaving the PC overnight unplugged must’ve let the system fully reset.
Thanks buddy
